This is one of my favorite letters I’ve written in a while.

It’s short and sweet. I managed to say exactly what I wanted to say without any fluff and that was a good feeling for me. Sometimes I feel like I’m just rambling or repeating myself in these things.

The outer space theme was fun for me, too. I’ve been wanting to do a fully space-themed letter for a while, but hadn’t found a good fit for it until this one.

And this is where we get to my favorite part: Asteroid B-612, AKA the Little Prince’s home planet. I snuck it in there.

I loooove The Little Prince, both the book (the Katherine Woods translation) and the 2016 animated film (if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend! It’s lovely).

This story is a huge inspiration to my art and I was suddenly filled with excitement when I had the idea to sneak his asteroid home into For Humankind.

I don’t know. It was just fun to see Yu standing on B-612.

Anyway, this was one I really enjoyed making, both writing and illustration-wise. I hope that shows through.

Favorite Panel: Yu standing on Asteroid B-612… if I didn’t make that clear.
